Andover Community Power
Cleaner Energy with Andover Community Power
Save Money
Strengthen Our Economy
Reduce Pollution
Something as ordinary as paying your electric bill can have an extraordinary effect on our community!
Andover Community Power (ACP) expands customer choice. ACP is a program offered by the Town to provide residents and businesses more electricity supply options by pooling the electricity use of thousands of users in Andover. The program is a Town-vetted alternative to National Grid’s default supply and other third party electricity suppliers.
All of the ACP options are lower than the current National Grid rates! You can participate in new renewable energy options and pay less!
Andover Ultimate is the ACP option that offers 100% local renewable energy. Customers who chose this option are:
paying less than National Grid rates
strengthening our regional economy by reducing our reliance on fossil fuels
reducing pollution.
Andover Community Power Benefits
Through strategic purchasing and combining the bulk buying power of thousands of households and businesses in town, Andover Community Power provides stable rates that are lower than National Grid rates.
While the Program cannot guarantee savings to customers in the future, we expect the Program will perform well and remain competitive over the years to come.
Andover Community Power’s standard and Andover Ultimate option include more renewable energy than required by Massachusetts. This means that by participating in the program, you can use cleaner electricity and support the growth of renewable energy generation in New England.
The program offers three options for electricity supply so that everyone in Andover can find an option that fits their budget and climate goals.
Participants in Andover Community Power may leave the program at any time without penalty.

Andover Community Power launched in June 2024! People who have signed up are saving money over those still using National Grid. Andover Community Power offers three electricity supply options to all Andover residents and businesses. The Town’s primary offering, Andover Standard, costs less than the current National Grid Residential Basic Service rate while also providing an additional 15% renewable energy. Andover residents and businesses may also choose from two other options: Andover Ultimate, which adds voluntary renewable energy (MA Class IRECs) to total 100%, and Andover Basic which just meets the State minimum standards for renewable energy.
Andover Community Power provides long-term price stability, with prices fixed until December 2027. The program also supports economic growth here in New England, because all additional renewable energy comes from “Class I” sources. Those are primarily wind and solar, all located within New England.
Please use the official ACP website to ensure you are keeping up-to-date on the official supplier and not getting scammed. Signing a new electric supplier contract now may lock you in and keep you from participating in ACP.

We do not want other towns aggregation plans to languish in the DPU for over 2 years like occurred here for Andover’s plan. The Department of Public Utilities (DPU) issued its final approval of Andover’s municipal aggregation plan in January 2024 after submitting its plan in July 2021!
Keep letting your state reps know that the system must be fixed!
