Newton Public Forum on the Housing Crisis and Decarbonization

The Newton Democratic City Committee is hosting a public forum. While the focus in on Newton, the conversation is quite relevant to Andover. Residential decarbonization is becoming a priority while simultaneously there is a housing crisis— both availability and affordability. How can these two challenges be met simultaneously?

The panel of experts will discuss decarbonizing homes, apartments, and related transportation, the legacy of systemic racism, the challenge of achieving environmental justice; and options for creating mixed income welcoming communities.

Helpful conversation for Andover’s Climate Action and Sustainability Plan as well as for Andover’s Master Plan and Andover’s housing plan.
