Lipsynching for Change
By Candy Dann
Being part of something bigger than myself, raising “climate” up as a priority, getting to be with friends who care about our environment… these were why several of us jumped into cars or trains, went to the steps of Boston Common leading up to the State House and “lip-synched” for a music video based on an adaptation of You Are My Sunshine by Andover activist Pat Scanlon.
“You are OUR sunshine. You are OUR sunshine
Greenhouse gases must go away.
We hear your warning about Global warming.
Tomorrow will be a brighter day.”
There were more than 50 of us, holding signs and singing. The weather cooperated. Five takes later, the videographers got enough.
You have an important part next: Help make it go viral. Send it to everyone you know in every way you can. Let’s make sure the climate has a voice!
